The Santa Clara County Probation Department operates a video security / public safety camera system at James Ranch to create a safer environment for all those who visit, work in, and are detained at the facility; assist in identifying and preventing threats and escapes; assist in assuring that only authorized individuals are allowed onto the facility; assist in gathering evidence for criminal actions; assist in monitoring areas that are not easily observable; and help emergency services personnel respond to emergency events.
As of the date of this Policy, the Probation Department uses the following Closed Circuit Television security equipment: Honeywell model #HCC210, with the capacity to remotely tilt, pan and zoom.
